When I headed off to college, my pastor, affectionately known at Brother Jack, said, “Remember who you are, and what you stand for.” That kernel of advice has stuck with me throughout my life. Since that time I’ve heard others convey the same message by challenging “Remember whose your are!”
Looking back, I believe that simple advice has had a profound effect on who I am today. Passing that advice along to others enables me to be a faithful servant in a small, but obedient way. Our earthly family, whether it be the folks we live with or those we work with are only a glimpse of our ultimate family, living eternally with God.
Application
Live up to your family identity. Remember whose you are. Make Him proud.
Prayer
God, help me do what’s right and to honor you. Bless my actions, so that they might reflect you.
