“Blame”

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. And…..Love your neighbor as yourself.
Matthew 22: 37, 39

For generations humans have been blaming Adam and Eve for our woes, ignoring the truth that we disobey God just as they did. When God asked Adam, “Have you eaten from the fruit I commanded you not to eat?” Adam responded, “Yes, but it was the woman you gave me who brought me the fruit, and I ate it.” Then God asked the woman and her response was “The serpent tricked me. That’s why I ate it.”

Neither Adam nor Eve took responsibility for their actions. Each blamed someone else. How many times have you blamed someone or something else instead of owning up to the truth and taking responsibility for your actions? Maybe it was putting the wrong label on something at work? Or maybe it was not turning off the light in the living room when you walked out? Even the simplest of actions shows your character.

Application
Act out of a desire to please God, and not blame others.

Prayer
Help me to honor you in all I do, and take responsibility for my actions.
