“Confession”

The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.
Proverbs 11:3

She ran into her friend’s store to pick-up the gift that she had ordered. Her six-year-old daughter wandered through the store admiring the brightly colored items. The sparkly costume jewelry was a real eye-catcher. She tried several pieces on and found one she really liked. There was a gold and blue ring that fit just right!

Headed home, at the traffic light, the mom noticed the little girl admiring a new ring. Mom began a conversation about the ring. The daughter, at some level, knew she was in the wrong. The conversation progressed to a confession, and the mom headed back to the store for the child to return her shiny prize and confess her wrong.

Some might have over looked the incident. This mother took the opportunity to have the child face her mistake and learn a valuable lesson in integrity.

Admitting our wrongs is often difficult, sometimes costly. But in the end, it will guide us safely. And ultimately let us shine.

Application
Is there a wrong you need to confess?

Prayer
Father, I want to shine with integrity. Please help me no matter what the cost.
