“Records”

Love keeps no record of wrongs.

1 Corinthians 13:5

I am a record keeper. I track our monthly expenses at home breaking them down into categories. I’ve served as the secretary for many organizations, because of my “note taking” abilities. I even date major appliances with a sharpie, so that purchase and install dates are easily found.

Some records are important to keep; others are fun to keep. However, I’m thankful that some records God doesn’t keep at all! We when ask God to forgive us of our sins, not only does he forgive he wipes the slate clean. I feel good knowing my record is clean with God. But I am often not as gracious to forgive others. Isn’t it easy to keep a mental list of our “hurts”, recalling not only the words but the facial expressions too? Are you a secret record keeper? Or do you forgive, erase, and love like Jesus?
