I will never leave you nor forsake you.
Joshua 1:5
Does the rose bush have thorns or does the thorn bush have roses? It’s really all about perspective, isn’t it?
When we find ourselves in situations beyond our belief do we look at the situation in a positive light or a negative light? When I lost my job in 1997 to “reorganization of the company” my first reaction was despair and hopelessness. I tried to keep my focus on God and what His plans where. Within a month I had a part-time job that paid more an hour than the full-time job I lost. Two months after that, God opened a door for a full-time job that paid almost double the job I lost.
Having the commitment to God and trusting His will brought me through what looked like a tragedy. The outcome was better than I could have imagined. Since that time, there have been other similar situations that God has shown me the roses and not the thorns. He has carried me.
Application
When life hands you the unexpected, do you look for the roses or the thorns?
Prayer
Thank you, Father, for staying true to your word and not forsaking me
