Then David continued, “Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Don’t be afraid or discouraged by the size of the task, for the Lord God, my God is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. He will see to it that all the work related to the Temple of the Lord is finished correctly.
1 Chronicles 29:20
Have you ever taken on a project and felt about half-way through the project that there was “no-way” you could finish it? Failure is usually a feeling we have on the inside, rather than what is actually before us. We begin to feel the fear of failure—feelings of inadequacy, worry, uncertainty.
David’s words, “be strong and courageous and do the work,” are motivating. Maybe David’s words are the answer to failure. Sure, there will be times we fall short. But the commitment to pick-up and move-on with the right attitude only makes what seems to be a failure, just a detour. When God is with us, we are ensured success.
Application
Have faith in God’s presence, call out to Him, and be strong and courageous in all you do.
Prayer
Father, help me not to be afraid, but to trust you in all things and find my strength in you
