“Which gemstone are you?”

Let the Lord judge the peoples. Vindicate me, Lord, according to my righteousness, according to my integrity, O Most High.
Psalm 7:8

When asked to define integrity, most will use the word moral. If we describe someone by saying he has integrity, what we are really saying is that he is of high moral standard. In actuality the word integrity has a deeper meaning—of being complete or undivided.

We often think of people with integrity being put to the test and not changing. Think of a gemstone. If it goes through a fire does it change? Diamonds are often described as being the hardest stone, when in actuality, if your family jewels are caught in house fire, the diamond in the ring will melt. However, the ruby, sapphire and even your cubic zirconia will withstand the highest levels of heat and remain in tack.

Jesus had the highest degree of integrity. Even when put through the fire of death on the cross, he remained unchanged; his character was not swayed.

Application
When you are put through the heat, what do you look like once the fire is gone?

Prayer
Thank you, Jesus for going through the fire for me.
