“Step Out”

Peter got out of the boat, started walking on the water, and came toward Jesus.

Matthew 14:29

What if Jesus asked you to step out of the boat and walk on water to meet Him? Would you step out? Fear over whelmed Peter. I think fear might overwhelm me, too. But, I also think I would step out and try to walk towards Jesus.

Do you ever find yourself in a situation where you feel if you step out you’ll sink? Maybe it’s a situation at work. You think there may be a better way to handle a certain task, but you are afraid to speak up—step out.

It’s okay to be afraid. But don’t be so afraid you don’t step out. To take a risk takes courage and faith. Just like Peter, God will be there to rescue you. Have courage and make a difference. Your commitment to take the first step, may be the change that makes the difference.

Father, may I have the faith and courage to take the first step.
