“I pray that your love for each other will overflow more and more.”
Philippians 1:9a
Think of someone that irritates you. It might be a family member you see once a year or a co-worker that you see five days a week for eight hours a day. How do you handle your feelings for this person? Do you grumble to the person who will listen, or do you pray for this person daily?
About 15 years ago I had a family member who was associating with less than desirable people. I was encouraged to pray for 21 days for the people spending time with my family member. I was told that in 21 days I will see a change. So for three weeks, I prayed. “God, I lift up (family member’s name) “roguey” friends.” It was amazing. Before the end of the three weeks, I felt better. I had a peace.
I can’t change anyone else, but me. Through the commitment of positive prayer. I changed my heart.
Application
Who do you need to pray for?
Prayer
May I be committed to praying daily in order to lift up others.
