“Don’t Compare”

“Be sure to do what you should, for then you will enjoy the personal satisfaction of having done your work well, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else.”

Galatians 6:4

Satan loves to steal your joy. It makes his day! One way Satan does this is by tempting you to compare your work to others and then swaying you to conform your work habits. It’s a deadly trap. Galatians 6:4 tells us not to compare ourselves, but to do your work well and enjoy the satisfaction that we have done so.
Comparing yourself is kind of like going to the beach. At the beach you will see people skinner, larger, more athletic, even sitting under a nicer umbrella than you. There will always be someone with the perception that he or she is better than you in some way. Don’t be drawn in. Don’t compare or criticize. It will steal your joy of who you are and the work you do.
Application
Observe this week who others compare themselves.
Prayer
May I stay focused on you Father and bring you glory in all I do.
