“Truth”

Then we will no longer be like children, forever changing our minds about what we believe because someone has told us something different or because someone has cleverly lied to us and made the lie sound like the truth.”

Ephesians 4:14

The Bible says we are to do away with false lifestyles and to live a life of integrity. Think about a time when a friend has ask for your advice, and you know it’s not the answer your friend is seeking. Do you share it anyway? Have you ever experienced confronting an employee about habitually coming in late for work? How did you act in similar situations?

The Bible says we are to hold to the truth in love. Do you deliver the message with love and compassion? Or do you use the situation as an opportunity to “tell the truth” in the form of criticism? Don’t be shallow and hide behind the truth in “niceness”.

Have courage and speak the truth in a gentle and loving manner. Everyone involved in the conversation will grow from the experience.

Application

Do you stop and think about how you respond or does the truth come naturally?

Prayer

In all situations, Father, may I have Your gentle spirit.
