“Grinders”

If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

Romans 12:18

Do you have any grinders in your life? These are the people that smother you. They are constantly talking to you at work or texting you non-stop or calling you all day. These people are looking for someone to fill a hole in their life, when what they are doing is wearing a hole in yours.

Romans 12:18 encourages us that as far as it depends on us, we’re to live at peace with everyone. When grinders are wearing you out or creating more chaos than peace in your life, ask yourself these questions: 1) Did I listen with compassion and respond in love? 2) Did I set limits?

Listening often helps us see our own behavior and evaluate the situation more clearly. Setting healthy boundaries helps you retain your space—people only invade your space when you let them. Sometimes you have to walk away from a situation—space makes grace.

Application
Trust God in all circumstances.

Prayer
Thank you for all of my  opportunities, even those that grind.
