Moses said to the Lord, “Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.” The lord said to him, “Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”
Exodus 4:10-12
When God called Moses, his first response was “Who me?” God and Moses had a long talk, which ended with God countering all of Moses’ objections, even to the point of giving Moses a helper, Aaron to speak for him.
Several years ago, God called me lead a group. I was a great volunteer or “right-hand man”, but I was in no way qualified to lead the group. I was fearful, but trusted that God had called me at this specific time to do a specific task for Him. God was faithful and lead me through the assignment. Looking back, I now know that God is the only way I fulfilled the commitment.
Application
With every assignment, God also gives us the ability to accomplish.
Prayer
Help me to focus on you, Father, and not my limitations.
