“Perishable”

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16

 

 

Do you ever think about the future? About all the different things you want to do, the places you’d like to see, the people you’d like to spend time with? I think we all do, and it is great to have a hope to look forward to that there is always tomorrow. This passage, however, reminds us that our lives are perishable, but also gives the hope that there is a way to live forever spiritually! Only through belief in Jesus can one have eternal life. What a great hope! This Earthly life is short and can be cruel, but an eternity with Jesus is worth the wait.

Prayer

Thank you Lord for sending your Son to die on the cross for our sins, so that we may spend eternity with you. Thank you for the all-consuming love that you show to us, your creation. Show us how to live a life pleasing to you through Your Word, and let us never lose hope in this life since you promise much better things to come! Amen.
