Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things

The day at the lake was gorgeous—bright and sunny. It was a perfect day for a boat ride, skiing and tubing. We were on the other side of the lake when darkness fell. The weather changed quickly to dark threatening rain clouds. We instantly began to move across the lake back to our dock, racing to beat the weather.
Parallel a sunny day instantly turning to threatening rain, to every day choices. We can have a sunny day or a gloomy day. The choice is ours. Instantly our positive attitude can turn negative. It’s up to us. Challenges and circumstances beyond our control happen. But how we respond makes the difference.

Father, thank you for all of my circumstances. May I be a light in a dark world for you.
