Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
Philippians 4:8-9
Today, society deems purity as hopeless and old-fashioned and profanity is the norm. From movies to TV shows to the hallways of our schools, the line between modesty and vulgarity has disappeared. Paul reminds us that Christians are to fill their minds with noble, pure, and good thoughts. We are to be on guard against the world’s attacks on the purity of your thoughts.
Think about what you see and hear every day. Have you built such a filter and you are numb to the world around you? Make a conscious decision to surround yourself with positive and to be the positive influence on those you come in contact with. As you do you will soon find your actions and words will to be positive and pleasing to God.

Dear God, it’s not easy to be different. Help me have actions that are pleasing to you.
