“Smile”

Weeping may go on all night, but joy comes with the morning!

Psalm 30:5b

He smiles and just puts you at ease. That’s what the pediatrician used to say about my son. She would enter the room; he would smile; and she would melt. She always said he will be just fine when he grows up—that smile will open lots of doors.

According to John Maxwell, people miss many opportunities for connection and the chance to build deeper relationships because they do not make themselves approachable. When you meet someone for the first time, how to you react? Is it a smile? Or is it with caution? People respond to personal warmth. Jesus showed that to everyone he met. To quote Christian Bovee, “Kindness is a language the dumb can speak and the deaf and hear and understand.”

What’s your language?
